This month’s Forum Watch is out

This month’s Forum Watch was just sent
out. Very informative, as
usual.

Some of the
highlights include the zoning information – well worth
a

read and some time devoted to
contacting your
representatives.

Albemarle
County Subdivision Text Amendment ? This STA is
moving

through with
deliberate speed.Ê The Blue Ridge Home Builders
Association

has identified
twelve issues with the STA that needed to be
addressed.Ê

To review
their concerns and staff reply please see here.

Albemarle
County Neighborhood Model Zoning Text Amendment ? The
previous

iteration of the
ZTA is now available online at this link.

Albemarle
County
staff held a focused
discussion on March 31st
to

discuss the changes to
the zoning with members of the
development,

building,
real estate and community at large.Ê Based on this
meeting,

staff has
indicated significant changes have been
made.Ê

The
Planning Commission is likely to receive this Amendment in mid
to

late February for their
consideration.

The
Free Enterprise Forum strongly encourages all with an interest
in

community development
in Albemarle County to read the proposed
language

and provide your
comments to the County Staff .Ê Written comments may

Greene
County Zoning Ordinance

? The New Greene County
Zoning

Ordinance has been
approved by the Board of Supervisors most of
the

changes were
housekeeping in nature and brining county code in
agreement

with state
law.Ê

Fluvanna
County Rural Preservation District
Zoning
Ê? This
issue seems to

have been
tabled for the time being.Ê The delay is to allow the
newly

approved Rural
clustering to take effect.Ê Depending on the next
twelve

months of
development activity in the county, it is anticipated
this

will come up again
perhaps as an election
issue.

Nelson
County Zoning
? A
December 22nd public hearing was not as
one

held earlier in the
month.Ê The Board has provided direction to staff
to

remove certain
objectionable aspects of the ordinance.Ê The
revised

ordinance as well
as staff reply to public comment is available
online

at this link.Ê ÊThe next Public Hearing
is February 2, at 7:00 pm Nelson County Middle School.
