CvilleTomorrow has another excellent update on the plodding path of Albemarle Place.
Does this seems to be a partial reason for its non-approval so far?
Buildings are being proposed that would exceed the 90′ height limit for residential/mixed use at this location … The applicant expressed frustration about the challenge of getting approval, all at once, for all aspects of a massive urban project like Albemarle Place. …
Why express frustration when you are proposing items that do not fit the what is currently allowed? If all aspects of the proposal met the County’s standards and approval was then denied, I can understand the frustration. If not, so be it.
If you have the time, read the whole thing; it’s worthwhile. Personally, I would like to know when they are going to hold the “balloon test.” Does the community really need (or want) a 150 foot building there?

Get it approved at the lower height; come back later and “seek approval for greater height.”
Cox is not the only frustrated one…
