Volunteers are needed!
The Toy Lift needs your help! For the last 19 years our community has come together to help our area children have a happy holiday. We need volunteers from December 5th through December 9th to help us set up, collect, sort, and distribute Toys and Books!
You can make THE difference in the lives of over 2,300 area children. Be a volunteer.
Please join us November 13th at 6:30 PM at the English Inn of Charlottesville for a meeting for volunteers. Come learn how you can help. Papa Johns Pizza and Pepsi products will be served!
Contact Walker Duncan or 975-TOYS for more info.
Thanks also to the Corner radio station for publicizing this meeting and event.
If you are in the Charlottesville area and have never participated in this charity, please consider it this year. Working the Toy Lift is a humbling and rewarding experience.
Be aware that no used toys will be accepted this year due to the waves of toy recalls this year.
Note: this post is because this charity is near and dear to my wife. She gives an immense amount of time and energy to this every year, and I admire all that she and the other Toy Lift leaders do to ensure that the area’s children have a holiday.

Thanks, Jim! Hopefully a bunch of your loyal readers will come out to help. This is truly a way to get into the true holiday spirit. Giving your own time and/or money to help our area kids have something on Christmas morning is an awesome feeling. I want each child out there to have as happy of a holiday as my kids do. All children deserve a Happy Christmas.
This event is also a great time for the community to come out on one big day to help their own neighbors. About 2,400 children in our area need help. Please help us, help them.
