The Open Data workgroup last night put on by Smart Cville (disclosure, I’m on their board, and I spoke briefly) was fascinating, not only for the insight provided by the City of Charlottesville folks demonstrating the tools available, but also the depth of information available at the City of Charlottesville’s Open Data portal.
Did you know you can search crime stats (with some interesting exclusions), building permits, solar installations, and quite a bit more. I’m going to dig into the open data tools in the coming weeks, and hope to learn more and will share with my clients, and here.
If you’re even more interested, check out everything from last night’s real estate deep dive on Smart Cville’s github.
Want to try your hand at mapping? The documentation from last night's event is quite robust and available here https://t.co/SRisGoG93C #arcgisonline
