I had no idea that “touching grass” is “internet slang.”
“Touching grass” is an internet slang that refers to the act of going outside and spending time in nature as a way to improve one’s mental health and well-being1. It is often used in response to someone who is spending too much time online or indoors and may be experiencing negative effects such as stress, anxiety, or burnout1. Going outside and spending time in nature has been shown to reduce stress, improve mental health outcomes, and help build a support system2.
I know that touching grass is good.
While I am bringing this neat house in the City of Charlottesville on the market soon, this post is not about that. This post is about taking a minute to be in whatever nature you can find. I was meeting someone at the house, and for a few minutes, I simply stood barefoot in the yard. It felt good. Sometimes, only a minute or two is what you can get; best to take advantage while we can.
For maybe the second or third time in my career, I am marketing the same house for the third time – all with different sellers!
And … when I was looking at the photos on my iPhone (yes, I do use professional photographers when marketing my listings), the URL on the Nest Realty sign was converted into a live link, and my phone number was clickable. Technology is amazing when it works.
Notably, it’s likely going to be rezoned for R-8 when Charlottesville finally enacts the new zoning. Learn more about the new zoning here and here.
