Inman News has a little blurb about the podcasts that we have produced. This can only be a good thing. (I might have emailed them about what we are doing).

Central VA market data
Waldo’s comment at the VPTC blogging conference and my recent experience in the shifting market shows that, at least from a perception point of view, property values may be moderating. Anecdotally, there seems to be more flexibility in Sellers’ pricing as well.
A few more thoughts on Google Base
Since I wrote about Google Base the other day, and the subsequent comment, the more I think about this, the more I think that this may be a watershed moment for the real estate industry.
Google Base and real estate marketing
Google has just launched (in beta) their newest method by which they are seeking to catalogue the world’s information – literally. From their FAQ page:4. What kind of information can I submit?Remember, our goal is to organize the world’s information and make it universally useful and accessible, (bolding mine) and “the world’s information” certainly includes almost anything you might wish to contribute. We encourage you to submit your item, whether it’s your store inventory, collection of original poetry, or research paper on cancer receptors.
Limitations: – simply too much information- mapping aspects of Google are limited; identifying specific property addresses is not accurate.
Wine Talk
Did you know that October is Virginia Wine Month? To celebrate, Tastings of Charlottesville has partnered with Wordcast Productions to produce the first Charlottesville/Central Virginia wine podcast. If you are interested in the region’s wine, this is an excellent listen. Central Virginia has an extraordinary number of excellent vineyards that consistently produce excellent wines…. I believe that this in an excellent opportunity to accomplish a few things – first, to continue my love of wine, second, to be a part of a format that I believe will only grow and three, increase my business’ and my blog’s profile in a segment of the real estate market I believe to be very desirable.
New listing in Belmont
Betty just put this home on the market in Belmont this morning. More information is at our website. This is one of the homes in Belmont that, when advertised as being walkable to the Mall, truly is. I hear that La Taza is within walking distance too!
Alternative advertising
My foray into alternative methods of advertising continues … I look forward to seeing the results. Charlottesville Podcasting Network is doing a fascinating podcast this Sunday at Tastings.
